Most teenagers will experience emotional ups and downs at some point whilst they are at secondary school. The pastoral team at OAO are here to support you (this includes your form tutor, pastoral leaders, heads of year, safeguarding team and Academy Leadership Team). We all have mental health, just as we have physical health.
We have to look after our mind like we do our body…
Unfortunately, stigma can be attached to mental health problems. This means that people feel uncomfortable about them and don’t talk about them much. Many people don’t even feel comfortable talking about their feelings. But it’s healthy to know and say how you’re feeling. Too often, people feel afraid to admit that they are struggling with their mental health. This fear of prejudice and judgement stops people from getting help and can destroy families and end lives.
