Recommended Reading List                       Literacy Resources

The department of education have brought together an initial list of online educational resources to help children to learn at home. Please click here to view them.

You will be aware that from Monday 23rd of March, our academy (like all others in England) will be closed to students.  There are exceptions to this that have been outlined by the Prime Minister.  Those students, and their families will be contacted by the academy directly.

In order to support you with home learning we have set up a new section of the website, this is password protected and you will receive a letter from the academy with the necessary log in details.  Please familiarise yourself with subject overviews and use the timings to help you plan the work for that day. We envisage that there is a wide range of work that can be worked through from now until the Easter holidays, but we will be in contact soon with details of the next phase of our Home Learning approach.

Here you will find access to a range of online resources to support with working from home during the uncertain time we find ourselves in. We have included the latest letter from the Academy regarding partial closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have also included a letter with details of online learning platforms to support learning and revision at home.

Finally, if you have any questions during this time about work set or access to resources please do not hesitate to email your child’s Year team. We will do our best to respond within 24 hours and look into any queries you may have.

Kind regards

100% Homework

Please remember that all Students, Parents and Carers also have access to the 100% Homework resources on the school website. These can be found under Curriculum and 100% Homework. You will be able to filter by subject and read a homework overview for both term one and term two for each subject. You will also have access to a reading list and related resources that your child can use to revise what they have been taught so far in lessons.

Knowledge Organisers – information on what they are and how to use them

Knowledge Organisers are usually a list of the key knowledge that a student needs to know for a topic. They are used across a number of subjects within the Academy to support student learning and to aid revision. Where these are available, the student can use them to revise using the technique of Look, Cover, Say, Write, Check or using Flashcards to quiz their knowledge.

We recommend that students use the knowledge organisers to learn and revise from and that parents use them to quiz their child at home.
