Option Choices
Here at Oasis Academy Oldham, we are passionate about ensuring our young people are not only given a choice in their future but feel empowered and informed about what their options are.
In Year 9, students make some significant decisions about what they will study in years 10 and 11. When deciding on their Pathway Choices, it is important to balance subjects that reflect their abilities, talent, and interests.
During this process, students will receive extensive support from their pastoral and subject tutors, as well as an in-person option focussed assembly, subject specific online assemblies for new subjects students will not have previously studied and an optional subject fair. Year 9 students and parents will also be invited to the Y9 Parents Evening, where they can ask questions of a range of specialists including subject tutors, careers advisors and representatives from further education.
