Within this final term, the time came for the Student Principal selection process now that our Year 11’s have left. Our current Year 10’s were invited to apply for the role of Student Principal for the purpose of continuing the great work already done by our Student Leadership Team.
There were 14 very strong applicants who applied for the role, all of whom submitted excellent applications, explaining exactly why they were interested in the role. Following this, these Year 10 students were invited for interview by Mr Barraclough, Head of Year, and Miss Hurst, Assistant Principal, to discuss key topics and share their own ideas on how our academy can continue to grow and succeed. Every applicant interviewed well and the decision on who to elect was very difficult.
We shortlisted 6 students through to the second round of interviews, this time with Mrs Dillon, Principal, and Mr Barraclough. All candidates impressed again and shone with regard to their ability to communicate and highlight their leadership potential, but only two could be selected for the Student Principal roles.
Congratulations to Angel and Hassan for being elected as our Student Principals for the 2023/2024 academic year.
